What Is Wetpour Surface?

Wetpour Surface

Wetpour Surface is an impact-absorbing safety surface for children’s playgrounds and can be used in a variety of different areas, such as parks, schools, and nursery facilities. It is an easy-to-maintain surfacing option that can withstand the rigours of everyday use and harsh weather conditions. Wet pour EPDM rubber surfacing is designed to be durable and long-lasting, meaning it’s less likely to need frequent repairs or replacement.

The wet pour surfacing system consists of a two-layered surface that is installed on a suitable base. The first layer, known as the ‘wearing course’ is made up of tough and durable rubber granules mixed with a polyurethane binder. This mixture is poured on-site in your chosen color. The second, softer layer is laid to a range of depths dependent on any equipment and is designed to cushion a fall, thus reducing the risk of serious injury.

From Drab to Fab: Transforming Playgrounds with Wetpour Resurfacing

Both the wearing course and the soft base layer can be made from a variety of materials. However, it is important to choose the right mix of granule and resin type for a successful installation. Our preferred choice is Rosehill TPV granules mixed with Aliphatic binder, as this combination provides the best UV stability.

As well as being a durable and long-lasting surface, wet pour is also environmentally friendly. It’s often made from recycled materials, contributing to sustainable efforts and it can be customized to match the needs of your project, with a wide range of colours and patterns available.
